Bob is a founding member of Ecology North, and has served as a Director off and on since 1971. He was born in Yellowknife, and attended universities in Alberta, Alaska and Oregon towards a Doctorate in wildlife science. He subsequently served 16 years as the bird biologist for the Government of the Northwest Territories (which included Nunavut at the time), conducting arctic research and participating in and sometimes chairing national and international avian management structures such as the Western Canada Raptor Committee, the Arctic Goose Joint Venture, and the Central Flyway Technical Committee. Bob operated Whole Arctic Consulting from 1997 to 2007, including managing Ecology North's Whati's Sustainable Community Project that produced the first NWT Community Energy Plan in 2005. From 2007 until 2015 he served as Member of the NWT Legislative Assembly for Weledeh. Bromley is currently investigating the possibility of an NWT renewable energy cooperative.
