Jessica has been a member of the Ecology North board since June 2015. Before moving to Yellowknife in April, 2015, she was a postdoctoral fellow in the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies at Queen's University. While she remains a historian at heart, at present, she is the On the Land Programs Consultant at the NWT Recreation and Parks Association, a position that sees her providing support to communities, organizations, and schools across the territory offering land-based programming. She is passionate about waste management, alternative transportation, food security, sustainable economies, and Twitter. She also enjoys a good nature walk!
